Abdul is a high class Top Order Batsman from the Multan region of Pakistan. A patient right-hander with a penchant for scoring big tons, Abdul is also a tidy Right-arm off Spinner that has represented Pakistan A on a handful of occasions throughout his career. After a hiatus from the topflight, he’s returned to action in season 2024-25, signing for Azad Jammu & Kashmir Region (AJK) under the new PCB structure.
Somewhat of a late bloomer, Abdul didn’t make his professional debut until he was 24 but has gone on to be one of Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) best performers before the domestic restructure under Imran Khan, which resulted in a move to the newly formed Southern Punjab. He was excellent for Southern Punjab prior to COVID, averaging 40+ in First Class.
Abdul debuted for Multan in November 2013, a mixed first class debut was countered by a blazing 119*(107) List A debut against the Karachi Dolphins, leading his team to victory in a chase of 280. In his first 3 seasons of Professional cricket, Abdul has averaged almost 50 in one day cricket at state level, scoring and impressive 868 runs @ 48.22 including 3 centuries. He’d also been a solid performer in First Class cricket with over 2000 runs @ 36.98 with 6 hundreds and 12 fifty’s to his name int he same period. This consistent performance saw Abdul selected for Pakistan A during their tour to England in 2016 and again in 2017.
With a wealth of UK Club experience, 9 seasons at Sanderstead CC in Surrey, the 2018 & 2021 summers with Brixham CC in Devon, 2019 with Lullington Park in Derbyshire and an excellent stint with Kilmarnock CC, tragically cut short by the loss of his mother in 2022, he returned in 2023, joining Cleator CC in the Cumbria Premier Division but it was a battle on field and he was unable to emulate his previous 2 stints, scoring just 335 runs/17 wickets, in what was an uncharacteristically tough summer for him.
Abdul is looking to return next summer, will travel alone and be an excellent pick up for any UK club seeking an experienced Pro who isn’t just a fine player, but an excellent coach and genuine clubman who gets heavily involved.
