Abhimanyu Chauhan

Abhimanyu Chauhan is an experienced all-round campaigner from Central India. A hard-hitting Top Order Batsman, Abhimanyu is also a tidy Right-arm Medium Pace seamer bowler. Born in Bhilai, Abhimanyu represented Baroda throughout the age groups before making his professional debut in the Ranji Trophy in summer 2005/06 as a fresh faced 19 year old.

He’d wait 4 seasons to make his first appearances in the white-ball formats and despite excelling in 50-over cricket, only managed to play a dozen career games in the format, with 329 runs @ 36.55. His appearances in the top flight were sporadic, with a move to Chhattisgarh, including a leadership as Captain, he re-ignited his career up until the pandemic hit.

With limited opportunities post-COVID, Abhimanyu headed to Sri Lanka, playing in their Domestic system for Air Force Sports Club in the First Class competition across 2022/23. He made six appearances for his new side, scoring 357 runs @ 29.75.

He returned to India in 2023 and is back in the mix for Chhattisgarh for the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy squad, having represented the Chhattisgarh Red side in the internal trial matches.

Seeking his first season in the UK at 39, Abhimanyu will be a good pick up for any club seeking a classy top order batsman that can roll the arm over if required with his economical medium pace proving more than useful on a number of occasions throughout his professional career.
