Achille Cloete

Achille Cloete is one of South Africa’s brightest young seam-bowling talents. A tall Right-arm Fast seamer, Achille is also a more than useful Right-hander down the order with the bat in hand. Having progressed through the complete pathway in South African Cricket, Achille is now contracted to Boland in the top tier Division One competition.

A junior star, Achille represented Boland through the age groups including at the prestigious Khaya Majola Coke Week, the U19 National Championships as a 16 year old. By the time South African U19 selection was on the horizon, Achille had already played a handful of professional games.

His one-day debut for Boland came in the 2018–19 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge on 27 January 2019 and in his 2nd appearance, bagged 4-28 against Kwa-Zulu Natal Inland. Later that year, he was named in Boland’s squad for the 2019–20 CSA Provincial T20 Cup, making his T20 debut during the competition. Just prior to Christmas, he was named in the South African U19 side to contest the 2020 ICC Under 19 World Cup, played in South Africa.

Achille ventured to the UK for the first time in 2024, joining Fives & Heronians CC in Essex, bagging 24 wickets @ 20.33 with a best of 6-27. He also chipped in with 94 runs in 3 knocks without being dismissed.

A player of tremendous potential, Achille will be a fantastic pick up for any UK club seeking a genuine strike new ball bowler for next summer and as one of the hottest young seam bowling prospects in South Africa, comes with plenty of proven performance behind him.
