Adam Jones

Adam Jones is talented Batsman, originally from Auckland but now based in Otago. A hard-working Right-hander, he also bowls left-arm medium pace but is concentrating on his batting and the move to Otago centred around his desire to push into the State side as a top order batsman.

Born in England but moving to New Zealand when he was young, Adam is a former Auckland U17 and U19 representative. Whilst in Auckland, he played for Howick Pakuranga CC in the Auckland Premier Cricket competitions and eventually Auckland A whom he represented not long after turning 18 and whilst still eligible for the Auckland U19 side. His first appearance for Auckland A saw him bag match figures of 7-73.

Adam relocated to Otago in 2021 and joined Taieri CC. In his first summer with the club, his batting really started to shine, scoring 610 runs @ 55.45 across all formats in 2021-22. He was selected for Otago A before the conclusion of the season.

Adam has had one previous season of Cricket in the UK, a 2019 stint with ECB Sussex Premier League club, Three Bridges CC. A solid stint, for the then 19-year old, produced 479 runs and 49 wickets and saw the club finish 3rd in the league.

Adam returned to the UK in 2023, joining East Bergholt CC in the Two Counties Championship. Whilst the team battled, Adam was a strong performer, scoring 951 runs @ 50.05 in a quality performance.

Seeking a return to the UK next summer, Adam will be a great pick up for a club seeking a quality Top Order Batsman who is a keen coach and can offer some occasional but useful left-arm medium pace. Adam holds a UK Passport, is British born and would prefer to play in the London/Hertfordshire region.
