Anthony “AJ” Mosca is an experienced and prolific top order Batsman, originally from Sydney but now based in Tasmania. A hard-working and patient Right-handed Top Order Batsman, AJ is also a part-time medium pacer. One of the more prolific top order Batsman of his era in Sydney Grade Cricket, AJ relocated to Tasmania ahead of the 2021-22 season and joined New Town CC in the Cricket Tasmania Premier Cricket competition with a view to pushing his case for a crack in the Tigers red-ball side.
Having punched out the best part of 7,500 runs in Sydney Grade Cricket, with just shy of 7,000 runs exclusively in First Grade, AJ has been on the fringes of the professional game in Australia for some time. On relocating to Tasmania, AJ was given a chance in the Tasmanian 2nd XI side prior to Christmas 2021. Whilst unable to cement a regular slot, AJ has been prolific for his adopted club, New Town CC, scoring 841 runs @ 52.56 in his debut season in the CTAS elite competition.
Adding another string to his bow, AJ starred for Italy in 2022, with 399 runs @ 57.00 across both the T20 International format in the T20 World Cup sub-qualifiers as well as the CWC 50-over challenge league, in which he scored 2 hundreds.
AJ had a previous stint in the UK back in 2014, joining Alfreton CC in the ECB Derbyshire Premier League, scoring 703 runs @ 41.35 and chipping in with 22 wickets @ 26.14
Seeking a return to Europe for the 2024 Northern Hemisphere summer, AJ is seeking to join an ambitious club that require top order reinforcement for the season. AJ holds an Italian Passport.
