Akram Muthalib is a impressive Wicketkeeper/Batsman from Kandy, Sri Lanka. A technically sound Left-hander, he is a natural leader, having captained the 1st XI at the prestigious Trinity College, Kandy, following in the footsteps of his idol, Kumar Sangakkara.
A standout performer at schoolboy level, he starred for the school and was selected as a reserve for the Sri Lankan U19 squad to tour to England. He would go on to captain the Nugegoda Sports and Welfare Club U23 side before making his First Class debut for Sinhalese SC in August 2022.
He returned to Nugegoda SWC ahead of the 2023-24 summer and after an inauspicious start to his return, the 2024-25 summer saw it all start to click for Akram, scoring 255 runs @ 42.50 in the 4-day competition with a best of 64 against Kandy Customs.
Seeking his first season in the UK, Akram will be a good pick up for any UK club seeking a Wicketkeeper/Batsman for next summer that is keen to be involved as much off the pitch, as he is on it.
