Alex Osborne is a bright, talented, young all-rounder from Perth, Australia. A capable right-handed Batsman, Alex is a developing leg-spinner with plenty talent and is looking to spend as much time playing cricket to master his craft as possible. Currently playing for Mount Lawley District Cricket Club in the Western Australia Cricket Association Premier League, he made his first grade debut as a 17 year old.
Having attended the prestigious Scotch College, Alex was a standout in the WA Public Schools Association, bagging 25 wickets @ 14.52 in his final year of school cricket. He’d previously been graded by Subiaco-Floreat Cricket Club as a 14 year old in 2017 but switched to Mount Lawley DCC ahead of the 2019-20 season.
Whilst he had floated between the 1st & 2nd XI’s, Alex has shown, especially in the 2nd XI that he is capable of being a contributor at the top of the order and has earned a place as a 1st XI regular. As with most young leg-spinners, Alex is a work in progress and whilst he hasn’t been a prolific wicket-taker, he has shown he can produce the goods and be a threat at the Premier Cricket level.
Having had a fleeting visit to Guildford CC in the 2019 summer, Alex returned to the UK in 2022, joining Wivenhoe Town CC in the Two Counties Championship. His 831 runs @ 51.94 and 37 wickets @ 28.35 was an excellent return in his first full season.
He returned in 2023, linking with Hastings & St Leonards Priory CC in the Sussex League and filled his boots with cricket, playing midweek and sunday’s for a variety of other teams throughout. Overall, 1500 runs and 100 wickets was an excellent summer but most importantly, his 272 runs @ 27.2 and 25 wickets @ 25.00 contributed to a successful league title and promotion to the ECB Sussex Premier League
Alex is looking to return to the South of England next summer and seeks to join a competitive club for next summer. Alex holds a UK Ancestry Visa and holds a Cricket Australia Level One coaching qualification.
Alex has access to his own accommodation in London.
