Alfred Mothoa

Alfred Mothoa is an experienced seamer originally from the Northerns region, north of Pretoria, more recently based in port Elizabeth, having joined the Warriors ahead of the 2023-24 summer. A right-handed lower order batsman that whilst not prolific, has more to give with the bat, his dominant skillset is most certainly his awkward Right-arm Fast/Medium bowling that has been very effective since first appearing on the professional scene is summer 2013-14.

A junior representative, Alfred represented the Northerns Province at U19 level before spending 3-4 seasons playing for Limpopo in the Cricket South Africa Rural League. He was rewarded for his solid performances with a first class debut against Border in November 2013. His 50-over debut followed a month later, against Western Province. By summer 2014-15, Alfred had made himself a regular in the Northerns side and ultimately stepped up to the Titans Franchise.

After a brief move back to Limpopo for the CSA T20 challenge, he shifted to the Free State/Knights from 2020-2023 before his current move to the Warriors, which has been a move that has sparked new life into his cricket and in summer 2023-24, he bagged 27 wickets @ 22.63 across all three formats.

Alfred has had one previous summer of UK cricket, a 2015 stint with South Hetton CC. His 14 game stint saw him collect 22 wickets @ 20.50.

Seeking a return to the UK next summer, Alfred will be a great pick up for any UK club seeking a quality new ball seamer that has just shy of 300 wickets across all three formats in his professional career to date.
