Amit is a promising young Right-handed Top order Batsman/Wicket-keeper and better than useful Off-Spinner, now playing for North Shore CC. Formerly at Auckland University & Cornwall CC respectively, he was Cornwall Cricket Club’s most prolific run scorer in 2014/15. Amit was a key contributor to the club making the one day final (Jeff Crowe cup) as well finishing in the top 3 in the two day format (Hedley Howarth Cup).
A prolific schoolboy talent, Amit has transitioned this form to the men’s game. 2016 marked a stellar season for Amit, as leading run scorer with Blidworth Colliery CC in Nottinghamshire. This included over 1100 runs including six 100’s and four 50’s and an epic 237 in the final game of the season. He back this up again in 2017, with 1055 runs, this time in the ECB Northants Premier League for Geddington CC, with a neat 1000 @ 52.63 in the League.
Amit returned to the UK in 2018, joining Norfolk Premier Division side, Stow CC, for their return to the top division. 4 x 50’s and 3 x 100’s, including a classy 164 (137) against Cromer CC, saw him score 835 runs @ 55.67 in another polished performance. He also bagged 22 wickets @ 24.73 with a best of 4-45.
In summer 2018-19 & 2019-20, his sheer weight of runs for Cornwall CC saw him selected for the Auckland A side on a handful of occasions.
Amit is seeking to play abroad again to continue to evolve his game. He seeks to join a club with great facilities, that would make it possible for him to play premier cricket and train through the week to work on his game. Amit also bowls handy off-spin when called upon. Amit is a driven and hardworking individual, striving for excellence at every opportunity. Amit will be a great pick up for any club seeking a quality Keeper/Bat that can bowl better than useful off-spin for next summer.
