Aphiwe Mnyanda is an electrifying young seam talent from South Africa’s Eastern Cape. A quite useful Right-handed Batsman that bats down the order in big boy cricket, he was in fact, a first drop in the Graeme College 1st XI during his later school years. However, it’s not his batting that gets batsman shuffling in their seats whilst waiting to bat, with his sharp left-arm seam proving to be a most effective weapon for a captain to have in his armoury.
Having attended and represented Graeme College throughout his schooling, Aphiwe burst on to the representative scene in the post-COVID Cubs week, impressing with his raw pace, so much so that he was selected in the South African U19 squad for the ICC Under 19 World Cup in the West Indies alongside WSX jets, Liam Alder & Mickey Copeland as well as another couple of decent players in Andile Simelane, Kwena Maphaka and Dewald Brevis.
An Eastern Province youth product, he shifted to the Inyathi in search of game time and was outstanding in the one-dayers, with 11 wickets @ 21.63 to finish the 2024-25 Summer. He was quickly brought back to the Warriors ahead of summer 2025-26.
Seeking his first season abroad in the 2026, Aphiwe will be a popular pick for any club seeking a raw left-armer with genuine pace next summer.
