Aravinda Premarathne

Aravinda is an experienced all-rounder from Kurunegala in Sri Lanka. A clever Right-arm Off Spinner, Aravinda is also a Right-handed Middle Order Batsman. Having debuted for his native Kurunegala as a 19 year old in all three formats, Aravinda has gone on to play 70 top level games in the Sri Lankan domestic system.

Unable to cement a consistent place at Kurunegala, Aravinda shifted to Moors SC and in a constant search for regular game time, has led somewhat of a nomadic existence within the domestic system. After stints with SL Ports, Panadura & Bloomfield, Aravinda seems to have found a happy home at Sri Lankan Air Force Sports Club since joining ahead of the 2019-20 season.

Aravinda had a good start to the 2021-22 season in 50-over cricket, with 8 wickets @ 20.37 with a best of 5-38 against Colombo CC. With it still uncertain that the First Class games will start, he is left hanging on what looked to be his most promising season yet, especially after a solid last FC season in 2019-20 with 227 runs @ 18.91 and 22 wickets @ 27.00.

Seeking his first season in the UK in 2023, Aravinda is looking for an opportunity to keep the momentum going as he continues his late bloom into a becoming a first class regular.
