Armaan Jaffer

Armaan is a highly talented batsman currently playing first class cricket for the powerful Mumbai team. After initially attracting plenty of attention as Wasim Jaffer’s nephew at 13 years old Armaan carved his oen identity when he broke the record for the highest individual score in Indian school cricket in 2010. He smashed 498 for Rizvi Springfield school against IES Raja Shivaji school in the Under 14’s Giles shield tournament, which surpassed Sarfaraz Khan’s 439 in 2009.

Armaan’s appetite for runs adn long innings had only just began. He spent his teens playing two and three-day matches in Mumbai, and notched one big score after another in the Cooch Behar Trophy. He got his reward when he was picked for the 2016 Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh, after he struck three consecutive double-centuries in 2015. Batting in the middle order, he scored 160 runs in six innings in the U-19 World Cup and was later picked for the Mumbai U-23 side. He showed his worth for the longer format again by registering scores of 181 and 60 in the semi-final and final of the CK Nayudu Trophy, which Mumbai won.

He has now cemented his position in the Mumbai state first class set up with impressive display’s in the First class and List A formats. Still only 24 Armaan still has alot more to give and achieve. A prolific run scorer he is looking to follow the footsteps of his uncle Wasim Jaffer who over the last 10 years was rated one the best overseas ever to play club cricket in the UK.

His first summer in the UK certainly kept up the family tradition of battering bowling attacks, scoring an impressive 1335 runs @ 60.68 to go with 29 wickets @ 20.24 for Whiston Parish Church CC.

Arman is simply going to be one of the most in demand Professionals for next summer.
