Ashen Silva

Ashen is a high-quality Left-handed top order batsman currently playing first class cricket in Sri Lanka for Chilaw Marians CC. An elegant player with a wide array of strokes. In 2012, Ashen represented the Sri Lanka Board Presidents X1 against England and scored a fine 66 in the 1st innings. His selection off the back of a fine 2011/12 season, in which he was the second highest run scorer in first class cricket with 915 runs in 9 matches.

In 2012 he was selected for the Sri Lanka A squad for the tour of South Africa and has been a contracted domestic player since 2010. In 2013 he was selected in the Sri Lankan test squad for the home matches against Bangladesh but didn’t manage to debut.

Ashen has had four seasons of UK experience to date. He spent the 2015 summer in the UK with Bury CC where he has had an excellent season, scoring 995 runs @ 55.28 to go with 39 wickets. He has just completed an outstanding 3-year stint with Great Hardwood CC in the Ribblesdale League and most recently in their innaugural Lancashire League campaign. Having scored over 3000 runs and 130 wickets in 3 summers have shown the value he can contribute to any club.
