Bafana Mahlangu

Bafana Mahlangu is an explosive top order Batsman from Pretoria, South Africa. A dashing right-hander, Bafana has experienced batting all-rounder playing first-class cricket for Northerns/Titans in South African domestic system. A former Northerns U19 representative, he has also been a rock for his club side, Tshwane University of Technology CC (TUT) in the Northerns Premier League. Bafana is also a more than useful Right-arm Medium/fast bowler.

Bafana had become one of the more seasoned pro’s in the Northerns side stacked with talent, with over 90 provincial games since his 2013 debut. After a hit and miss first few seasons in the top flight, his consistency has improved across both the First Class & List A formats, scoring over 2100 runs in the last 3 seasons. His white-ball form particularly impressive with 408 runs @ 51.00. His form has seen him clock up some good game time with the Titans Franchise over the last couple of seasons.

In his only previous season in the UK, a 2015 stint with Elton CC in the old Central Lancs League, Bafana not only did a great job with the bat (882 runs @ 35.28), he was also exceptional with the ball, jagging 35 wickets @ 19.89 with a best of 5-63 against Werneth in an 18 wicket win having earlier scored a solid 57.

Keen for a return to the UK next summer, Bafana will be a good recruit for any club seeking a top-order dasher that can contribute with the ball in a meaningful way.
