Bailey Capel is a high-class top Order Batsman from Adelaide, South Australia. A Classy left-handed opening Batsman, Bailey is also a capable Wicketkeeper who has been a standout for West Torrens DCC since his first appearances for the club as an U12. He’s gone on to become a prolific opener for the club passing the 1000 run mark in an amazing 2019-20 summer.
Having been so dominant for West Torrens, Bailey was eventually awarded a State Contract and made his Sheffield Shield debut at the end of the 2021-22 summer against New South Wales. Whilst he hasn’t made as many appearances as he’d have hoped for, he’s continued to pummel runs in the SACA Premier Cricket First Grade, with 4 500+ run seasons on the bounce.
Bailey has had one previous season of UK Experience, a 2019 stint with Ealing CC in the Middlesex League as a 19 year old. It was a solid summer with 916 runs @ 33.93 as the club finished 2nd in the Premier Division.
Seeking a return to the UK next summer, Bailey will be a great pick for any UK club seeking a high-class Top Order Batsman. Bailey holds a UK Ancestry Visa and is a Cricket Australia Level One qualified coach.
