Beni Hansen

Benjamin “Beni” Hansen is one of South Africa’s bright young leaders both on and off the field. A gifted Right-hander that is a busy presence in the middle order, Beni is also a very capable Wicketkeeper. He has been the South African Schools Captain and in January 2025, captained the South African U19 side that hosted England.

A star for the prestigious Wynberg Boys’ High School, he was not only their leader but their standout performer with the bat. Beni represented the Southern Superstars at the CSA Cubs Week, gaining valuable experience against South Africa’s top youth talent and has been a consistent presence on the representative scene throughout his late teens.

Now a regular fixture in the South African U19 side, he was picked as a 17-year old for the SA U19 tour to Bangladesh. He missed the 2024 ICC U19 World Cup but went on to become their leader in early 2025, playing 2 Youth Tests and 3 Youth ODI.

He made his first senior appearances in the 2023-24 Cricket South Africa One Day Challenge for the SA Emerging side and his long awaited Cobras debut came in March 2025. In a surprise move and in search of consistent professional appearances, he grabbed an opportunity to switch to South Western Districts ahead of the 2025-26 summer.

Seeking his first season overseas in 2026, Beni will be an excellent pick up for any UK club looking for a dynamic middle order batsman that will take the gloves next summer.
