Benji Floros

Benji Floros is a skilful emerging Aussie quick from Canberra originally but based long term in the Sunshine State capital of Brisbane. A hard-hitting Right-hander that can bat anywhere in the middle to lower order, he is an exceptional natural fast bowling talent that comes from a cricketing family, with his brother Jason a former Big Bash and State Cricketer. He is currently representing Valley DCC in the Queensland Premier Cricket Competition and debuted for QLD in 2024-25.

Benji has carved out a successful but unlucky career to date, having earned a contract with Queensland only to lose it after a heart-breaking ACL injury. But the immensely talented young man wasn’t prepared to let it railroad a promising career and worked tirelessly to return to elite cricket.

The hard work paid off, with the imposing 6″5′ quick returning to First Grade in summer 2022-23 after a couple of warm-up trundles in 2nd grade. In just his 3rd game back in the top grade, Benji bagged 5-32 against Ipswich. His successful return paved the way for an unbelievable 2023-24 season.

As 2023-24 rolled around, Benji had some solid returns in the early season T20 comp but it was his 10-38 (5-17 & 5-21) against Sandgate-Redcliffe in the first red ball game of the summer that sealed his return to the conversation at the higher level. His native ACT came knocking and he bagged 2-99 (30) against Western Australia, knocking over big bash stars, Cooper Connolly & Nick Hobson.

His professional debut came in November 2024 against NSW in the Sheffield Shield. A well earned cap off the back of some outstanding form in 2nd XI and Premier Cricket.

A genuinely nice bloke, Benji is eligible for a UK Ancestral Visa and ventured to the UK for the first time in 2026. Joining Middleton CC in the Sussex Premier League he was excellent and caught the eye of Surrey CCC who dragged him in for a few games in the One Day Cup. His season overall yielded 523 runs to go with 35 wickets for Middleton as well as 10 wickets in the Metro Bank ODC.

Eager to continue making his mark in the game and making up for lost time, Benji will be a fantastic pick up for any UK club seeking a class act with the new ball that can be a more than useful contributor with the bat in hand.
