Blade Crane

Blade is a young Seam-bowling all-rounder from East London in South Africa’s Eastern Cape region. A powerful Right-handed lower order Batsman, Blade is a clean striker and has plenty of growth ahead of him with the willow in hand but his dominant skill is his Right-arm Fast/Medium new ball bowling. With genuine pace, he spearheaded the bowling attack for the prestigious Selborne College, one of the better cricketing schools in South Africa.

A passionate and dedicated cricketer with a strong drive to succeed, Blade is improving year on year with excellent work ethic and is described as a “formidable force” on the cricket field by his coach, Ethan O’Reilly, who knows just a thing or two about fast bowling considering statistically he is one of South African domestic cricket’s best performed seamers.

From a young age all Blade has wanted to do is play cricket. His hard work and commitment to improving all aspects of his game is reflected in his bowling returns, with clever variations mixed with sound fundamentals steering him towards a successful cricketing journey ahead. He certainly has more to give with the bat as a natural ball-striker and has continued to work on this aspect of his game.

Seeking his first season in the UK, Blade joined Menai Bridge CC in the North Wales league. It didn’t quite go to plan, with just 13 wickets and 172 runs for the summer in a very tough first stint in the UK.

Blade has access to a UK Ancestry Visa and will be keen to make a big improvement to his performances next summer.
