Chad Laycock is a talented young all-rounder from Durban, South Africa. A clean-striking Right-handed top order batsman, Chad is also a handy Right-arm medium pace seamer or Off Spinner. Schooled at the prestigious Glenwood College, he was a regular feature for the school ‘A’ teams and ultimately the 1st XI. He also represented KZN from U15 level upwards.
Having starred through the age groups whilst at school, he attended a number of Cricket South Africa Talent Acceleration Programs. Chad was selected for the Dolphins Cubs in 2021/2022 and in 2023 he debuted for the Dolphins Colts.
Chad has been abroad once before, as a 16 year old, joining Railway Union CC in the Republic of Ireland for an 8-week exchange. He was impressive, playing almost exclusively in the 1st XI, scoring 341 runs @ 31.00 and chipping in with 14 wickets @ 18.43.
Seeking a return to the Northern Hemisphere, Chad will be an excellent pick up for any club seeking a genuine top-order talent that can contribute with the ball.
