Chanura Fernando

Chanura Fernando is a skilful seam bowler currently representing Negombo in Sri Lanka’s domestic system. A clever, economical Left-arm Medium/Fast seamer, clocking in around the 130km/h mark, Chanura has been one of the country’s most effective seam bowlers since his 2017 debut.

A late bloomer by Sri Lankan standards, he has been a regular for Negombo throughout his career and first appeared for them in the U23 tournamnet, debuting against Moors and knocking Kusal Mendis over with just his second ball.

Chanura has gone on to become one of the most dangerous seamers in the country across all formats and looks to have flown under the radar with an excellent record across all three formats with an overall record of 161 wickets @ 22.03 with a best of 8-61 in red ball cricket.

Seeking his first placement in the UK, Chanura will be a quality pick up for any UK club seeking a genuine wicket-taking new ball bowler for next season.
