Charles Stobo

Charlie Stobo is a high-quality All-Rounder, originally from Sydney but now based in Perth where he is contracted by Western Australia. A hard-hitting Right-handed Batsman, Charlie is capable of batting anywhere from first drop to the lower middle order. His main discipline however is his Right-arm Fast/Medium seam bowling. A tall, athletic new ball bowler, Charlie gets good bounce and has been exceptional with the red-ball, particularly for Western Australia.

Charlie made his first-class debut for his home state of New South Wales however, in the 2016–17 Sheffield Shield season on 5 December 2016 against South Australia, bagging match figures of 7-115 in his first crack at the big time. He made his List A debut the following summer for the Cricket Australia XI in the 2017–18 JLT One-Day Cup in October 2017. He moved west ahead of the 2020-21 summer and after strong performances in the Western Australia Premier Cricket for University CC, Charlies was called into the Western Australia squad for the 2020–21 Marsh One-Day Cup. He was rewarded with a full contract ahead of the 2022-23 season, having been part of the State’s academy program for several years.

Charlie has had one season of previous UK experience, a 2015 summer with Newcastle CC in the North East Premier League, utilising his UK Ancestral Visa in the process.

Seeking a return to the UK next summer, Charlie will be a popular pick for any UK club seeking a high-quality seam-bowling all-rounder that is also a Cricket Australia Level one qualified coach. Charlie will be travelling with his partner.
