Charlton Tshuma is a tall, rangy seamer from Bulawayo in Zimbabwe. Somewhat of a late bloomer, he didn’t make his first professional appearance until he was 22 in the summer of 2015-16. A Right-arm Fast/Medium, Charlton is a resilient right-hander that whilst not prolific, doesn’t give his wicket away without a fight. He has represented Zimbabwe across all three formats.

His debut appearance on the First Class scene was impressive, bagging match figures of 7-100 and holding up his end in a 30-run last wicket partnership to see the Tuskers home by 1 wicket. He’d make just a couple more Pro appearance before what would be a career-changing start to the 2019-20 season. Having collected 13 wickets in his first 3 First Class games of the season, Charlton was named in the SL Tour squad in Jan 2020.

Whilst he didn’t play against Sri Lanka, he would debut against Bangladesh the following month, with just his 6th First Class game doubling up as a test debut against Bangladesh in Feb 2020. He made his ODI and T20I debut on the same Bangladesh tour and has gone on to become a regular for the Tuskers in the Zimbabwe domestic competition.

Seeking his first season abroad in 2024, Charlton will be a handy pick up for any club seeking a tall seamer that bowls a heavy ball for next summer.
