Cole Abrahams

Cole Abrahams is an enigmatic talent from Johannesburg, South Africa. A gifted right-hander, Cole is a middle order batsman and Right-arm Off-Spinner that found his love for the game at 8 years old as an opening batsman for Cliffview Primary. His first taste of representative cricket came for the Gauteng Central School’s Development side as an 9 year old and 15 years later, he was contracted to the Gauteng Lions Senior provincial squad ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Having captained various Gauteng junior representative teams, Cole starred for Parktown Boys High School, receiving full colours for cricket in 2016 and 2017 and captaining the 1st XI in his final year. All throughout his schooling, Cole has been a long-term member of Delfos Cricket Club and been a significant contributor to the club’s success alongside a number of Lions players including our very own Codi Yusuf.

At the conclusion of his schooling, Cole headed off to the UK and spent two very productive summers there. Firstly with Monton CC (2018) in the Greater Manchester Cricket League & Waterlooville CC (2019) in the Southern Premier Cricket League, scoring 700+ runs in both seasons.

Post-COVID, Cole linked with Mpumalanga as they sought re-admission to the Provincial system and was a solid contributor for them. In his 2 seasons with the Rhinos, Cole showed enough through his game time for the Rhinos Colts that his native Gauteng Lions Province to come knocking and offered him a contract ahead of the 2023-24 season.

An exciting talent, Cole will be an excellent pick up for any UK club seeking a high-quality middle order Batsman for the summer. Cole is a Cricket South Africa accredited coach and his personable nature will make him a hit with the youth section.
