Daniel is an exceptionally talented wicket-keeper batsman playing for Western Province Cricket Club in the Cape Town Premier league.

Early on in Daniel’s sporting career he was awarded the Carlton Lloyd Scholarship for Cricket for 5 years to the prestigious Rondebosch Boys School in the Western Cape. Following a stellar and highly decorated junior and senior school career, he enjoyed over 100 1st XI caps for his school. His impressive school stats boasted over 4800 runs in 5 years with an average just over 30 which consisted of 35 fifties and 4 hundreds, together with 166 catches and 96 stumpings. Those who have witnessed his junior career believe he has what it takes to become a superstar.

Daniel Represented WP Cricket from Under 13 all the way to Under 19. He was selected as part of the WP U19A Khaya Majola ‘Coke-Week’ team, the World Sports Betting Cape Cobras Cubs Week team, and the Western Province Cricket Academy. He also represented the Bo-Kaap Phantoms in the T20 Cape Premier League where he was drafted as one of the top 10 players in the league. In the infancy of his senior career, he was awarded a 3-year High Performance Sports Bursary for Cricket at Stellenbosch University and a further 1-year High-Performance Sports Bursary for Cricket at the University of the Western Cape. He completed his studies and qualified as a Biokineticist and is also a qualified sports massage, strapping and taping practitioner.

Daniel is a hard-working, highly driven cricketer. A gifted, punishing, right-handed batter who props up the middle order, he has excelled in both batting and keeping and has become a key gloveman for his current club, Western Province CC.

Daniel’s first stint overseas was as a 16-year-old, where he represented North Devon CC. He was again eager to experience cricket abroad for his ongoing development so headed to Carlton CC in Scotland for their Cricket Scotland Eastern Premier League Campaign.

Dan was outstanding with 1141 runs @ 39.34 across the summer and made a big impression on the league, with a few potential suitors expressing their interest in attracting him to make a move but Carlton moved swiftly to lock him back in for 2024.

He will remain in Scotland long term to continue his qualification for the National side.
