Daniel Drew is a high-quality batting all-rounder from Adelaide, Australia. A high-class Right-hander, Daniel is known to tweak off-breaks, moreso in Premier Cricket than First Class Cricket, for whom he currently represents South Australia. Representing West Torrens DCC in the South Australian Premier Cricket competition, Daniel has been one of their standout performers.
Daniel caught SACA Cricket’s attention when he won the 2016-17 Bradman Gold Medal for his brilliant performances in Under-17 Shield Cricket. Daniel was the first Eagles player to receive the coveted award in 29 years which makes the feat all the more impressive. His exploits in the middle order were the cornerstone of the Western Eagles’ success across all formats. Apart from putting up a few vital contributions with the bat, especially in the shortest formats, he was also effective with the ball. He made his Sheffield Shield debut in 2019 against Tasmania.
The 2020-2022 period has been as prolific of a period as anyone could hope for at the Grade level, with over 1700 runs and 50 wickets for West Torrens over the 2 seasons. His performances led to a return to the fold with the Redbacks and he’s found a regular place in the State’s red-ball side. He has also been picked by the Adelaide Strikers in the BBL in summer 2021-22.
An excellent find, Drew is predicted to be a star in the making and will be an excellent pick up for any UK clubs seeking a high-class Batting All-Rounder for next summer.
