David Christie

David Christie is an immensely talented cricketer, originally from Pretoria but now based in South Africa’s Western Cape region of Boland. Cutting an imposing figure, David is a powerful, right-handed stroke-making Top Order Batsman that is also a capable Right-arm Medium-Fast seamer. He is currently involved in the Boland Provincial set up.

Schooled at Pearson High School in Port Elizabeth, David was involved in the Warriors pathways before heading north to Pretoria to study at Tshwane University of Technology. Representing TUT 1st XI in the Northerns Premier League, he was exceptional, smoking 651 runs @ 43.40 in summer 2021-22.

In 2023, he moved west to continue his studies, joining Stellenbosch University and representing Maties, the Uni’s elite 1st XI. He was again a powerhouse for his new club, with 1500+ runs over the 2023/24 & 2024/25 seasons and pushing his way into the Boland Colts in the South African provincial system. He struck 387 runs @ 64.50 with two hundreds.

In amongst his domestic movements, David has had two seasons of previous UK experience. In summer 2021, he signed for Fleetwood Hesketh CC in the Liverpool Competition, scoring 488 runs and picking up 28 wickets. He returned the following summer, linking with Beverley Town CC in the ECB Yorkshire North Premier Division for the 2023 season, scoring 582 runs and chipping in with 17 wickets.

Seeking a return to the UK next summer, David will be an excellent pick up for any UK club seeking a brutal top order batsman that can contribute with the ball. David is eligible for a UK Ancestral visa.
