David Roberts

David Roberts is a hard-working and resilient top/middle order batsman from Western Australia. Now based in Kalgoorlie, where he represents 2022-23 Finalists, Lake View CC, David was one of Gosnells District Cricket Club’s bright young prospects in Western Australia’s Premier Cricket Competition, having debuted for the GDCC 1st XI as a 17 year old in summer 2014-15.

With an extended run in the side that summer not yielding the vast volumes of runs, David certainly played his part in helping the club to the WACA Premier Cricket Grand Final that summer. Over the subsequent 2 years, David cemented a place in the 1st/2nd XI’s and is working as hard as ever to become the consistent top order performer he has the ability to be.

In search of that constant improvement, David tried his hand in the UK in 2016, joining Stretford Cricket Club in the Greater Manchester Cricket League. A wet summer didn’t result in David being able to fully showcase his talents although his 423 runs was enough to see him finish in the top 10 run scorers.

In 2017, Dave returned, joining Lichfield CC and some better batting tracks allowed him to show his ability with the bat, scoring 1282 runs @ 41.35 in all formats and 724 of those were in the league proper, his best performance of 132 (105) coming against Nuneaton CC. He also chipped in with 15 wickets and 17 catches.

Seeking a return to the UK in 2023, David is seeking to join a social club with a good batting track that he can also assist with helping to develop the clubs younger players through his enthusiastic coaching.
