Dewan Marais

Dewan Marais is one of South African Cricket’s most exciting talents. A destructive, Right-handed top order batsman, Dewan is also a capable but sparingly-used Right-arm Fast/Medium seamer that represented South Africa at the 2024 ICC Under-19 World Cup.

A schoolboy star for Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High, Dewan was a regular feature for Easterns through the provincial age groups and made his professional debut shortly after his 18th birthday in the CSA Provincial One Day Cup. He has already appeared in the CSA T20 earlier in the summer for the South African U19 side.

Dewan was outstanding at the world cup, scoring 200 runs @ 50.00 but more impressively, struck at 135.13. His attacking style has seen him continue to strike at 140+ in T20 cricket throughout his career to date and prove to be a very effective middle order rock, playing a David Miller-esque role with great aplomb.

Now carving out a senior career, Dewan has been a regular feature for the South African Emerging side with tours to Zimbabwe and Bangladesh as well as taking on South Africa A in the 2025-26 pre-season.

Seeking his first season in the UK in 2026, Dewan will be an exceptional pick up for any UK club seeking a brutal batsman, tidy seamer and an electric fielder, with his standards in the ring operating at an international level of quality.
