Dhanushka Dharmasiri

Dhanushka Dharmasiri is an experienced all-rounder from Avissawella in Sri Lanka. A hard-hitting Left handed Top Order Batsman, Dhanushka is also a capable Right-arm Off Spinner. Dhanushka first appeared on the domestic circuit in 2013, representing the Police Sports Club Under-23’s in the National Tournament. He soon linked with Kurunegala Youth CC for the 2014 Emerging Trophy Tournament and finished in the Top 10 for runs scored.

Dhanushka continued to represent Kurunegala Youth CC in the 2nd tier tournaments through to 2016 when he made his professional debut, a first class match against Sri Lankan Navy. It was a debut to remember, scoring his career best 134 (204), steering Kurunegala to a healthy first innings lead. Dhanushka has gone on to score 10 half centuries in Red ball cricket since. His occasional off-spin hasn’t been used much in 3-day cricket but has been quite effective in the shorter formats although still sparingly used.

Seeking his first season in the UK in 2023, Dhanushka joined Edenfield CC in the GMCL League. In a solid first outing, he picked up 33 wickets @ 19.93 and chimed in with 648 runs with a best of 126 against Woodhouses CC.

Seeking a return to the UK, Dhanushka will be a good pick up for a club seeking a hard-hitting top order Batsman for next summer that can genuinely contribute with the ball.
