Dion Myers

Dion Myers is an outstanding young talent from Harare, Zimbabwe. A gifted 360 degree Top order Batsman, he has an incredible temperament that will see him almost certainly be a long-term member of the Zimbabwean National team if not it’s leader. He is also a more than useful right-arm Medium pace seamer.

A schoolboy star, Dion represented Zimbabwe at two ICC U19 World Cups, captaining the squad at the 2020 edition in South Africa. Later that year, Dion made his first-class debut in December, for Mountaineers, in the 2020–21 Logan Cup. Twenty20 & List A debuts soon followed during the same summer.

In May 2021, Dion earned his maiden call up to the Zimbabwe A cricket team for the List A series against South Africa A, scoring 96 in the first game of the series. 2 months later, he was named in the Test squad to face Bangladesh, making his test debut in what was just his 6th First Class game. He was also selected in the ODI & T20I squads for the same tour.

Following such a rapid rise through the ranks, the incredibly intelligent youngster made the choice to pursue his studies ahead of Cricket, heading off to England to study and complete his degree. A big call, but a sign of the maturity and level head this exciting talent has.

He returned to the fold in 2024, slotting straight back into the T20I team for the 5 match series against India, scoring an impressive 65* (49) against the World Champions. He was selected for Test team for their tour of Ireland, scoring a patient 57 in the second innings. Dion remained with the Zimbabwe U25 side that toured England concurrently, scoring an outstanding 134 (112) in a big 89-run win against Glamorgan.

Dion was drafted by the New York Strikers Lagos Franchise for the 2nd edition of the Zim Afro T10, giving him a great opportunity to showcase his talent to the world in September 2024.

Seeking his first season in the UK in 2025, Dion will be an outstanding pick up for any UK club seeking an immensely talented top order batsman that will be a more than useful contributor with the ball.
