Duvindu is a talented and young left arm spinner currently playing first class cricket in Sri Lanka for Burgher CC. He started his cricketing career at the famous St.Thomas in Mount Lavinia where he represented all age groups upto Under 17 level. He then joined Trinity College and represented the 1st team for 3 years. During the 2nd year he took 64 wickets which helped him gain selection to the Sri Lankan Under 19 team for games against Bangladesh.

During his 3rd and final year for his college he managed to take 106 wickets in 18 matches and was awarded the prestigious Trinity Lion award. He made his first class debut last year picking up 29 wickets in just 6 matches including a 11 wicket haul against the powerful and star studded Nondescripts CC. His impressive start to his first class career saw him selected for the Sri Lankan Under 23 side for the Emerging teams Asia cup which was held in Bangladesh.

Duvindu represents MAS Unichela in the recently concluded Mercantile premier league tournament which is considered the most competitive 50 over tournament in the country. He picked up 23 wickets in 9 matches including two six wicket hauls and was adjudged the best bowler of the competition.

In 2018 he completed his first season in the Uk for Easington CC with excellent success taking 62 wickets at a average of 9 and his impressive displays saw his side become league champions.

The 2019-20 season Duvindu has really took his first class career to another level with 43 wickets in just 6 matches with 3 matches remaining. This led to him being selected by a Sri Lankan Cricket XI to play England where in the second innings took the wickets of Ben Stokes and Zan Crawley.

In summer 2021, Duvindu returned to the UK, joining Orrell Red Triangle CC in the ECB Liverpool Premier League. His return was nothing short of outstanding, bagging 76 wickets @ 9.47 with a best of 8-42 against New Brighton CC. He returned in 2024 and was worth the wait, bagging 96 wickets @ 10.04, with a best of 8-25

Looking to return next summer, Duvindu is a bright talent that is certainly within striking distance of the national side but for now represents an excellent choice for any club looking for a classy left-arm spin bowler.
