Ed Nuttall

Ed Nuttall is an experienced seam bowler from Canterbury, New Zealand. A Left-handed lower order batsman that, whilst not prolific, does find himself as the last man standing quite often, his dominant skillset is by far and away his Left-arm Fast seam swing bowling. From a cricketing family and a Canterbury junior, he has played his entire career with the Kings, from Under 17 level through to the top flight.

Pegged as a first class player of the future, Ed was a regular representative selection initially for Canterbury, followed by winning a place in the New Zealand U19 side to contest the 2012 ICC U19 World Cup in Australia, making 3 appearances at the tournament. He also represented the New Zealand XI to play against the touring Pakistan & Bangladesh sides.

Prior to the World Cup, Ed had already made a number of 1st team appearances for the Kings, making his professional debut in March 2012 against Otago. He’s gone on to become a stalwart of the Canterbury squad, making over 170 appearances in across all three formats and collecting 280 wickets along the way.

Ed has two previous seasons of UK experience to his name. 2022 saw Ed join Bexley CC in the ECB Kent Premier League, bagging 28 wickets @ 20.21. He returned in 2023, joining CIYMS CC in Ireland, picking up 21 wickets @ 22.80.

Seeking a return to the UK next summer, Ed will be a good pick up for any UK club seeking an experienced new ball bowler that has genuine pace for next summer. Ed is an ECB Level 2 equivalent coach.
