George van Heerden

George van Heerden is a gifted cricketer from Port Elizabeth. A natural leader, the skilful Right-handed batsman is also a tidy right-arm off spinner that has long been tipped for big things since appearing for Eastern Province as a 13 year old. Schooled at the prestigious Grey High PE, he was a regular feature for all the representative teams throughout the age groups.

Having dominated age-group cricket for the Eastern Province and Warriors Cubs sides, George was selected to captain the South Africa Under 19 side to the 2022 ICC U19 World Cup in the West Indies. He was the junior proteas 2nd highest run scorer behind Dewald Brevis for the tournament.

He’d already made his first domestic appearances for the SA U19 side in the CSA T20 challenge in summer 2021-22 and amazingly, George was selected to represent the South Africa Emerging side in 2023 before he made his First Class debut in summer 2024-25.

What a start he made to his pro career, scoring 515 runs @ 64.37 in his first full season of red ball cricket and backed it up with an outstanding 258 runs @ 64.50 in the one-day competition. He got off to a flyer in the 2025-26 summer, scoring 221* in the season opener against Limpopo.

Seeking his first season in the UK in 2026, George will be an excellent pick up for any UK club seeking a high class top order batsman that can contribute with the ball next summer.
