Gregory Mahlokwana

Gregory Mahlokwana is a gifted all-round cricketer from Pretoria, South Africa. A unique and enigmatic talent, Gregory is an ambidextrous spinner, bowling both Right-arm Off Spin as well as Slow Left-arm Orthodox. He is also a very capable Left-handed Middle Order Batsman. He starred through the age groups, representing his native Northerns Province from U13 all the way through to the senior men’s provincial side.

Gregory made his List A debut for Northerns in the 2016–17 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge in February 2017, T20 and First Class debuts came later in the same year. Up until COVID, Gregory was one of the more regular sights in a Titans blue jersey but a move to Free State saw him feature in mostly white-ball cricket until Mpumalanga came knocking in 2023 with an opportunity to switch allegiances.

Having been selected for the South Africa Emerging players side in 2021 for their tour of Namibia there seemed to be high hopes for Greg, who had also previously appeared for the Cape Town Blitz in the Mzansi Super League.

A clearly very talented cricketer but somewhat of a late bloomer, Gregory is seeking to head to the UK for the first time in 2025 at the ripe age of 30. This hard-hitting Left-handed all-rounder will be a very interesting signing for any UK club seeking a wicket-taking spinner that can sure up the middle order next summer.
