Hayden Goulstone is a gritty and determined young spin-bowling all-rounder from Sydney, Australia. A hard-working, Right-handed middle order batsman, Hayden is an exceptional but conventional, right-arm Off-Spinner. A Parramatta junior, Hayden has been a one-club man since he was graded by the club as a 15-year-old in summer 2016/17 whilst still playing AW Green Shield. He represented New South Wales at the 2019-20 Cricket Australia U19 State Championships, which they won, defeating Victoria Country in the final at the WACA.
Now a key member of the Parramatta DCC 1st XI, Hayden’s professional attitude and work ethic sees him form part of the club’s leadership group with both his off-field as well as on-field commitment to the club highly commendable.
Whilst his value to a club cannot be understated, he is first and foremost a cricketer. A stoic batsman that has scored valuable runs and scored hundreds for the club, his bowling remains his stronger discipline. An aggressive off-spinner that gives it a rip, Hayden has been particularly successful in the shorter formats. Hayden has trained with the NSW State side as well as the Sydney Sixers BBL side on a number of occasions.
Summer 2022 saw Hayden head to the UK for the first time, utilising his British Passport, he joined Woodbank CC in the Greater Manchester Premier League, scoring 486 runs @ 23.40 and helping himself to 56 wickets @ 16.08 with a best of 5-26 coming against Clifton CC in a big 8-wicket win.
Hayden returned in 2023, joining Radlett CC in the ECB Hertfordshire Premier League, helping them to a 3rd place finish. His 337 runs @ 33.7 and 32 wickets @ 21.88 in 19 games was a solid return.
During the summer, Hayden was picked up by Essex County Cricket Club to play in their 2nd XI and made 9 appearances, bagging 10 wickets with a best of 4-31 against Sussex.
Seeking a return to the UK next summer, Hayden will be an excellent pick up for any UK club seeking a strike spinner that can not only bat in the middle order but is an outstanding coach, holding a Cricket Australia Level 2 (ECB Level 3 equivalent) coaching qualification.
