Hermann Rolfes

Hermann Rolfes is an exceptional all-round talent from Pretoria, South Africa. A schoolboy star, he attended the prestigious Afrikaanse Hoer Seunskool “Affies” and was a regular feature for the Northerns Province at every age group from U13 upwards, ultimately representing the Titans at U19 level before being selected for the South Africa U19 side to contest the 2018 U19 World Cup in New Zealand, finishing the tournament as one of SA’s best with 200 runs and 6 wickets with a best of 108 vs hosts, New Zealand.

Post-age group Cricket, Hermann headed off to Pretoria University (TUKS) to study Industrial engineering and represented Pretoria High School Old Boys Cricket Club in the Northerns Premier League whilst studying as well as representing the University as part of their Elite Cricket program.

Upon conculsion of his studies, Hermann returned to Professional cricket, signing for Mpumalanga ahead of the 2023-24 summer. On debut, against Eastern Cape Iinyathi, Hermann scored a first innings 31 and collected 5-74 in his first bowl at the professional level. He has made himself a regular feature for the Rhinos in red-ball and T20 cricket and will no doubt make his one-day debut throughout summer 2024-25.

Hermann has had two previous seasons in the UK, with back-to-back summers for ECB Liverpool powerhouse Bootle CC, playing a major role in the club achieving promotion to the Premier League at the end of the 2024 summer, with 908 runs @ 82.55 to go with 27 wickets @ 10.19.

Seeking a return to the UK next summer, Hermann will be an outstanding pick up for any UK club chasing a genuine seam-bowling all-rounder that can take the new ball and bat in the top 4.
