Himasha is a patient middle-order Batsman and pert-time Leg Spinner from Homagama, Colombo. An experienced cricketer with a safe pair of hands, he is the skipper of Negombo CC in the Sri Lankan Domestic system in the 4-day competition and is highly regarded by his peers for his leadership.
Having started his career with Bloomfield CAC U23 as an 18 year old, he made his first professional appearances for SL Army Sports Club. Having done his time through the U23 system, up until COVID, Himasha had been building nicely towards establishing himself among the better red-ball batsmen in the country, having averaged 40+ in 4-day cricket between 2018-2020.
Whilst there was no red-ball Cricket post-COVID for some time, he grabbed the chance to impress in white ball, with 381 runs @ 76.20 in the 2021 Limited Over Tournament.
Seeking his first season in the UK, Himasha will be a great pick up for any UK chasing a solid middle-order Batsman that is eager to use his time here to bowl his useful Leggies, which brought him much success in his U23 career.
