Hlompho Modimokoane is a very exciting young seam bowler originally from Rustenburg, South Africa but now based in Durban. Not known for his exploits with the bat, Hlompho is a skiddy right-arm seam bowler who starred for North West and made a big impact for his native province through the age groups. As well as representing the province, Hlompho was selected for the Lions academy as well as the NWU Pukke university team. This led to him making his FC debut for North West during the 2018-19 season in South Africa.
After a limited but impressive 2019-20 for North West, KZN Coastal were quick to offer Hlopmho his 1st professional contract for the 2020-21 season. Having poached him from North West, there is little to no chance this impressive young seamer has been recruited to keep the bench warm and his genuine pace will be let loose by Kwa-Zulu Natal Coastal from the outset. Hlompho has collected 4 wickets in his first two First Class matches in just under 20 overs, showing his genuine wicket-taking prowess.
Now under the guidance of former South African international Roger Telemachus, he is looking to further his development and keep pushing for higher honours to break into the Dolphins squad. The strong young seam bowler who can naturally move the ball both ways through the air will be keen to impress on his first season abroad in 2021 and his searing pace will no doubt be a great addition to any UK Club next summer.
