Imal Liyanage is a hard-hitting Wicket-Keeper Batsman, originally from Sri Lanka but has represented Qatar in T20 International cricket, having relocated to the region in 2016.

A Left-handed Batsman, Imal was schooled at the prestigious Royal College Colombo and represented Colts Cricket Club im the Sri Lankan domestic U23 competition from 2013 through to 2016, starring for CCC in the 2015 edition with 369 runs @ 52.71 in the 3-Day competition.

After a number of seasons in his adopted home, Imal was called into the National team to debut against Uganda, scoring 37* (22). He played 18 Internationals for Qatar in T20 Cricket before a shift to Australia for the 2022-23 season.

Imal joined the Preston Cricket Club in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association and was solid, with 526 runs @ 32.88 with a best of 102 (60) vs Ivanhoe in a T20.

Having returned to play First Class Cricket in Sri Lanka in 2023, Imal sought his first placement in the UK in 2024 and joined Woodhouse Grange CC. He was solid, scoring 951 runs @ 33.96 with a best of 109* in the final game of the season.

Imal will be a good pick up for any UK club seeking a dashing top order Batsman that is also a very capable gloveman.
