Innocent Kaia

Innocent is a talented batting allrounder playing first class cricket in Zimbabwe for the Mountaineers CC and in 2021 made his debut for Zimbabwe. Having been a part of the Zimbabwe national youth squads at under 13,14,16 and under 19 levels, in 2014 he was selected to play in the Zimbabwe National Academy and also selected to play for the Zimbabwe Board XI for games against Kenya, Namibia and South Africa.

A gifted stroke player with a great variation of strokes all around the wicket. He is also a useful leg spin bowler with excellent control. He is a keen and active coach eager to get involved with all aspects of club life. He was selected for Zimbabwe’s 2021 tour of Scotland and made his T20I debut against Scots in September 2021.

He has had 4 previous seasons in the UK in 2015/2016/2021/2022. Playing for Worcester Nomads CC (2015/16) where he has had excellent success. In his first season in 2015 he scored 740 runs at 37 and took 35 wickets at 20 and has returned this summer and has fired his club to the top of the Worcestershire premier league and to date has scored 1172 runs at 65 and took 36 wickets.

He returned to the UK again in 2021 to play for Whittington CC in the Staffordshire league where he was been brutal scoring 1212 runs at 67.33 with 5 hundreds and also chipped in with 27 wickets. Innocent return in 2022 albeit very briefly, a short 3-game stint with Fordhouses, before he was called up for Zimbabwe’s winter tours.
