Irfan Karim is a high class wicketkeeper/batsman born in the UK but based in Kenya. A patient, stoic Left-handed Top Order Batsman that is an old school crafter of an innings, he is also an outstanding gloveman whether its taking highlight-reel grabs off the seamers or his rapid hands standing up to the pegs. He has played over 70 International matches for Kenya and his leadership qualities have seen him lead the national side on a number of occasions.

A youth star, he made his One-Day International debut at just 18, scoring 32 (38) against the Netherlands and he made 9 ODI appearances for Kenya prior to losing their ODI status. It is T20 where Irfan has made his mark for Kenya, with over 2,000 T20 runs @ 33, including 14 x T20 Fiftys, it is his run-a-ball anchor role has been executed very successfully for the national side allowing the power hitters to do their good work around him.

Born in the UK, but raised in Kenya, Irfan returned to the England to study at Loughborough. Whilst studying, Irfan played 2nd XI for a number of counties and also made appearances for the Unicorns side. A deep-thinker with a good cricket brain, Irfan has had a number of club seasons in the UK. Whilst studying, he played for Rothley Park CC in the ECB Leicestershire Premier League from 2015-2018. He returned post-COVID to play for Wycombe house in 2022, Wokingham in 2023 and in 2024, he joined Ashmanhaugh & Barton Wanderers for their first season in the ECB East Anglian Premier League.

Irfan shifted south to Essex, joining Chelmsford CC for the 2025 summer and was excellent, scoring 857 runs @ 38.95 for the ECB Essex Premier League club.

A intelligent gentleman that is always the consummate professional, a very keen coach and a reliable team mate, Irfan will be an excellent pick up for any UK Club seeking a UK-Qualified Wicketkeeper/Batsman for next summer.
