Jacques Banton

Jacques Banton is a talented all-rounder from Birmingham. A former pupil at Bromsgrove School and the cricketer factory that is King’s College, Taunton, Jacques is a naturally talented top order batsman. A hard-hitting right-hander, he is also a very capable Left-arm Orthodox Spinner. He represented his native Warwickshire throughout the age groups as well as the ECB Elite Player Development squad for the Midlands. Jacques linked with the Worcestershire Academy in 2018-2019 whilst playing for the County’s 2nd XI. He would go on to be contracted by Worcestershire in 2021-22.

From a Cricketing family, His dad, Colin, played for Nottinghamshire in 1995 and his brother Tom has presented England in white-ball Cricket. After signing his rookie contract with Worcestershire in June 2021, Jacques made his List A debut a month later in the 2021 Royal London One-Day Cup. He made his Twenty20 in summer 2022 in the T20 Blast.

Jacques has been plying his trade in Club Cricket with Barnt Green CC in the Birmingham Premier League and helped steer them to the Final of the National Vitality Club Twenty20 Cup.

Having recently been released from Worcestershire, Jacques is now seeking opportunities outside County Cricket whilst he continues to work on his game and would like to join a club that can offer not just Premier League Cricket but also the opportunity to develop his coaching repertoire, which is a passion of his. Jacques is also eager to upgrade his coaching qualifications.
