Jalaj is one the most talented all-rounder’s currently playing first class cricket in India for Kerala State team. Making his debut in the 2007/08 season,Jalaj has been a consistent performer at first class level accumulating over 6000 first class runs and taking over 300 first class wickets. In 2013 he was selected for the IPL to replace Lendl Simmons for the Mumbai Indians.

Jalaj’s notable achievement came in the 2014/15 season when he won the Lala Amarnath award for the best all-rounder,in which he scored 768 runs for the first class season and took 20 wickets. Having played for his home state Madhya Pradesh during his first few years in 2016 he decided to join Kerala. The 2018/19 season was fantastic finishing on the leading wicket takers in the Ranji Trophy taking 29 wickets in the first 4 matches.
