Jason van Dyk

Jason van Dyk is an exciting young talent from Bedfordview, Gauteng. A high-class Right-hander that can bat anywhere in the order, although he prefers to open, Jason is also a capable wicket-keeper as well as being a tidy Right-arm Leg Spinner. He is contracted to the Eastern Storm in the Cricket South Africa domestic system.

A complete cricket tragic from a little boy, Jason has had one focus only since he was young man, playing professional cricket. In 2024, he did just that, making his First Class debut for his native Eastern Storm, against Mpumalanga in February and going on to make five First Class appearances in the calendar year.

His serious cricket journey started with his High School cricket program, starring for Marais Viljoen, becoming the first player to hit a score of 250+ for the school, with a personal best of 257* and receiving the Batsman of the year award. He twice toured India with the school.

Having progressed through the Eastern Storm U17 and Academy program, Jason ventured to the UK in pursuit of continuous improvement. He joined Nonington CC in the Kent Cricket League for the 2022 & 2023 summers.

His performances on UK soil were tremendous, pumping out 2282 runs @ 65.20 across both summers, with a personal best of 220* (132) against Whitstable CC in a massive run chase. He also chimed in with 38 wickets @ 26 and even helped himself to 22 catches and 3 stumpings with the gloves.

Seeking a return to the UK next summer, Jason will be an excellent pick up for any UK club seeking a classy top order batsman that can either take the gloves or bowl a few leggies if called upon. Jason is also Cricket South Africa Level One qualified coach.
