Jay Pande

Jay Pande is a classy Batting All-rounder from Pune, India. A gifted Right-hander that can bat anywhere in the top order, Jay is also a tidy part-time Right-arm Off Spinner that has been used with success in the Ranji Trophy. Currently contracted to Puducherry, he was a star for Maharashtra throughout the age groups.

Having been first sighted for Maharashtra as a 15 year-old, he spent 2 years representing his native state in the Vijay Merchant Trophy. He was selected under-age for the state as a 16 year-old playing alongside the best U19 players in the region for the 2011-12 Cooch Behar Trophy. Despite being one of the youngest players in the tournament, he struck 608 runs @ 55.27. He maintained his presence in the U19 squad until he aged out.

As a 19 year old, he was selected in the Maharashtra U23 squad and remained in the squad until he aged out but he wasn’t done there. At the conclusion of almost a decade of age group cricket, he earned his maiden professional appearance for the senior side, a one-day debut in September 2018, against Goa, scoring a match-winning 117* (136) as they chased down the host’s 266.

A more subdued First Class debut cap came a couple of months later but he’d strike his maiden red-ball ton in just his 6th appearance, a patient 130 (272) to set up an epic win against Assam. Having struggled with his consistency, he relocated to Puducherry ahead of summer 2022-23 in search of re-igniting his career.

He starred for the Bulls XI in the Puducherry Premier League in 2022 & 2023, finishing in the top 10 run scorers both years.

Seeking his first season abroad in summer 2026, Jay will be an excellent pick up for any club seeking a top order batsman that can contribute with the ball next summer.
