Jordan Watson is a sublime young talent from Penrith, Australia. A tall, 6ft 5in top order Batsman, Jordan has a real presence at the crease and can bat anywhere from from opening down to the middle order, which he has done with aplomb for every team he has represented in his short but very productive career to date. A local Penrith junior who started playing cricket in Penrith District competition in 2013/14 with Glenbrook Blaxland Cricket Club, he represented Penrith juniors between the ages of 13 and 16 and debuted with Penrith Grade Cricket Club in 2017/18.

Having first appeared in Men’s Cricket in the Penrith lower grades as a 14 year old, Jordan had pushed his way into the stacked Panthers side by 17. Now, just 19, he is a regular and formidable selection for the club’s 1st XI, with his powerful stroke-play reminiscent of a young Tim David, with a huge hitting arc combined with brute force.

A Squad member of Cricket NSW Metro Cricket Academy from U15’s in 2017/18 through to U19’s squad in 2021/22, Jordan was a standout for NSW at the National U17 championships with 208 runs @ 52.00. He followed this with selection for the Cricket Australia 2019/20 Rookie Squad and was a no-brainer for the NSW U19 at the 2021-22 U19 national championships

Penrith Cricket Club’s Batter of the Year in the 2021/22 season, Jordan was given the honour of captaining Penrith’s U21s Captain for the prestigious Poidevin-Gray Shield in summer 2022-23.

Summer 2023 was Jordan’s first venture to the UK, joining Wollaston CC in the ECB Northamptonshire Premier League. Jordan put in a solid first up shift, scoring 683 runs with a best of 125 and showed glimpses of his ability which gives us plenty to be excited about in the seasons to come.

A player of immense promise, Jordan is seeking to return to the UK next summer and join a club that can give him a platform to take his game to the next level. Fortunate enough to hold a UK Ancestry Visa.
