Josh Finnie

Josh Finnie is a highly regarded all-rounder from Dunedin, NZ. An attacking right-handed middle order Batsman, Josh is also a tidy right-arm of-spinner. Having been a schoolboy star for Otago Boys High School, he was a regular feature for the Otago U19 and ultimately his performances led to him not only being selected for the New Zealand U19 for the 2014 ICC U19 World Cup but to captain them in the 2016 edition.

Josh made his professional debut at just 17, appearing for Otago against Central Districts in the 2014-15 Super Smash, picking up 2-9, including the big wicket of Will Young. He has been a regular in the Volts T20 side since his debut and has represented his home state 1st XI on over 100 occasions across all three formats. He missed much of the 2021-22 season with concussion issues.

In his only previous UK stint, Josh joined the Elite International Cricket Academy (EICA) run by Hampshire and was placed with Bournemouth CC for their 2015 ECB Southern Premier League Division One campaign as an 18 year old. 613 runs @ 38.31 with five half-centuries and 34 wickets @ 15.21 with a best of 4-25 was an excellent return for Josh in his first stint overseas.

An excellent coach, Josh holds a Cricket NZ Level 2 Certificate (ECB Level 3 equivalent) and he has been a stalwart of the Kaikorai CC since finishing his schooling, always keen to give back to young cricketers that want to learn when he has the chance. Josh is a great all-round clubman who will be a popular pick for next summer. Josh will be travelling with his partner.
