Josh in a highly talented all-round sportsman from Port Elizabeth in South Africa. Attending Pearson High School, Josh is not only an exceptional student, he is a high class hockey player and cricketer to boot. An attacking middle/lower order Batsman, Josh is a clever leg-spinner that was promoted to the school’s 1st XI at 16 years old.
Described by his coaches as coachable and hard working, Josh is one of the schools hardest trainers and is committed to constantly improving his game. Throughout his last year of school cricket in 2018-19 before exams take precedence, Josh picked up 42 wickets @ 20.19 in 29 games with a best of 5-45 against the renowned St Andrews College in a 50-over game.
In summer 2021, Josh headed to the UK for his first summer, linking with Sonning CC in the Thames Valley Cricket League. A mixed year of weather, form and call offs, Josh managed to gather 43 wickets @ 14.19 across all competitions to go with 392 runs @ 23.06, an impressive first up return.
He returned in 2022, joining Oundle Town CC in the Northants Premier League. An up and down season saw Josh switch between the 1st & 2nd XI’s but overall, he was a good fit around the club and even won the 1st XI a game with the bat against Desborough Town CC with a 47* to see the chase of over 250 home.
Seeking to return to the UK next Summer, Josh holds a UK passport and will be a popular choice for clubs seeking a young, strike, leg-spinner that can contribute to the lower order next season.
