Juan James is an exciting young all-round talent from South Africa’s Western Cape. A right-handed Middle Order Batsman, Juan is also a very capable Right-arm Off Spinner. A schoolboy star, Juan completed his schooling at Wynberg High School. He also represented Ottoman CC locally in the Western Province Cricket Association.
Having finished his schooling, Juan represented the South African U19 side to contest the 2022-23 CSA T20 Challenge, making his T20 debut against Mpumalanga. Juan took an opportunity to link with North West Province for the remainder of 2022-23 season.
In February 2023 he made his First Class debut against Boland and went on to make 2 more appearances at the end of the season. Juan was again selected for the South African U19 side for the tour to Bangladesh in July 2023. He returned to the Western Cape ahead of the 2023-24 summer, joining his native Western Province on a rookie contract.
Juan captained the South African U19 side at the 2024 ICC Under 19 World Cup.
Seeking his first season abroad in 2026, Juan will be an excellent pick up for any club seeking a hard-hitting middle order batsman that bowls tidy off-spin.
