Juma Miyagi

Juma Miyagi is an exciting emerging talent from Uganda. A capable Right-handed middle/lower order batsman, Juma is a Right-fast seamer with genuine pace that has been in the sights of national selectors since he was a young man. Progressing through the U19 side through to the National Men’s side in the space of 3 months in early 2022.

Having first appeared for the Uganda U19 side as a 15 year old in 2019, it was no surprise he was selected for the ICC Under 19 World Cup squad when the Cranes qualified for West Indies-hosted tournament in January 2022. he starred for them at the tournament, bagging 13 wickets @ 17.76 with best performances of 4-25 against Scotland, 4/29 against Papua New Guinea and 3/33 against South
Africa, finishing as Uganda’s leading wicket taker and 5th overall.

A couple of months later, Juma had forced his way into the National men’s side and has been a revelation in the top flight, with 46 T20I wickets @ 12.97 in a super impressive start to his career, culminating in 3 appearances at the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup.

A natural leader, Juma has also been appointed the national team vice-captain at just 21 and if the emerging African nation can continue their rapid rise, we will surely see a lot more of this talented seamer on the world stage in years to come.

Juma is seeking his first season in the UK in 2025.
